Long War 1 Vs 2, I may be biased because I consider it my perfect XCOM, but I would highly recommend LW 1.

May 26, 2017 · Long War 1 is amazing for it's theme, having to fend off aliens from Earth. So, after finishing my playthrough of XCOM 2 on Commander/Ironman pumped full of mods I've decided its finally time to bite the bullet and try a long war mod. Protests against the war continued, [5] and Rennie Davis and Tom Hayden became directors of the Mobe office in Chicago. Incorporating it not only into the tactical layer, but also in the strategic layer with infiltrations and customizable squad sizes was a really novel and risky endeavour. Long War 2 is a decent theme. Other than 8 base classes in both and officers instead of medals, and 5 tiers of weapons - these are totally different games.
